In March this year, the Norwegian Research Council (NRC) announced the grant of two Norwegian centers for environment-friendly energy research (FME) on hydrogen.
One of the centres (i.e., HyValue) is hosted by NORCE in Bergen, while the other (i.e., HYDROGENi) will be led by SINTEF in Trondheim. The two centres will, to a large extent, seek to become complimentary in terms of scope and with close collaboration.
The establishment of FME centres on hydrogen is part of a governmental strategy to increase the Norwegian development within hydrogen and hydrogen-based energy carriers (“Veikart for Hydrogen i Norge”). Over the next eight years, the centres will receive a total of 310 million NOK to strengthen Norway´s research effort on hydrogen.
HyValue and HYDROGENi brings together over 50 partners each, which both include national and international research partners, industry and public sector.
