The conference will take place in room M003, building K2.
We encourage the use of Bybanen / the light rail (service every five minutes) or other public transport:
From Bergen Airport: The light rail stops at "Kronstad" next to the campus where the event takes place. The light rail also stops close to the hotel Scandic Ørnen, the nearest stop is "Nygård".
From Bergen city centre: The easiest way to get to Campus Kronstad, is to take the light rail, both line 1 and 2 to stop at "Kronstad".
Hotel Scandic Ørnen Bergen: The nearest light rail stop is "Nygård". From Bergen Airport to the hotel it takes approx. 45 minutes, and between campus Kronstad and Nygård, approx. 5 minutes.
Tickets for public transport: You can buy tickets on the mobile app “Skyss Billett” (App Store, or Google Play), ticket machines on most light rail stops, online store, or with cash or card from the bus driver. NB: you cannot buy tickets onboard the light rail (Bybanen), only prepaid tickets are valid. You can use the “Skyss Reise” mobile app to plan your travel.
Taxi: If you need a taxi, our preferred company is Bergen Taxi, +47 55 99 70 00 (from Norwegian phones you can call 07000).
Parking: There are very limited parking spaces on campus. We recommend parking in Bygarasjen, and taking the light rail from "Bergen busstasjon" to "Kronstad".
- There is no conference fee for participants from the HyValue Consortium, and meals included in the programme are provided free of cost.
- Although the conference is free of charge, please note that no-shows may incur a fee of NOK 1 500.
- Travel and accommodation costs are covered by the participants.
- Title and abstract: Presenters are kindly asked to submit the title and abstract (max 300 words) and a short bio (100-150 words max) to ellh@norceresearch.no by 28 April.
- Language: All presentations and posters should be in English. Avoid using jargon and explain abbreviations and acronyms.
- Images: Ensure you have the rights to use any images included in your presentation and provide appropriate credits. Please remember to explain any charts presented.
- Audience expectations: Expect a knowledgeable audience that is interested in the topic, but not necessarily experts in your specific area of research. Engage the audience by explaining the significance of your work and its broader implications.
- Duration: Please adhere to the allocated time to allow time for Q&A and to ensure no one is cut short.
- Presentation format: Please use PowerPoint (PPTX) slides in 16:9 format for your presentation. Ensure your slides are clear and visually engaging. You may use the HyValue template, available here for members of HyValue Teams/Sharepoint, or upon request to ellh@norceresearch.no.
- Sharing of presentations: Please send your final slides by Tuesday May 6, 10:00 to ellh@norceresearch.no. Presentations will be shared with participants after the event. If you have any content that should not be shared, please inform the organizers in advance.
- Poster format: Posters should be in size A0, portrait oriented. Ensure your poster is clear, visually appealing, and easy to read from a 1meter distance. Use large fonts for titles and headings, and avoid clutter. Use bullet points, charts, and images to communicate information effectively.
- Template: As we currently do not have a HyValue poster template, you may use your home institution’s template.
- Acknowledgement: Please remember to include logos (HyValue, your host institution, collaborators, alternatively other project logo) and to acknowledge Hyvalue: This research is funded by HyValue partners and the Research Council of Norway (grant number 333151).
- Content focus: Focus on the key points of your research, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. If you are in the starting phase of your project, you may either present earlier work (relevant to HyValue) or your project plan.
- Poster pitch: Be prepared to give a 1minute presentation of your poster in the beginning of the session to encourage participants to visit your poster. Be ready to answer questions and discuss your work in more detail during the poster session.
- Poster printing: If you require your poster to be printed by the organizers, please send your poster by 28 April to ellh@norceresearch.no.
- Sharing posters: The posters will be shared with attendees after the event. If you have any content that should not be shared, please send an edited version by Monday May 5, 14:00 to ellh@norceresearch.no. NB: the deadline for poster printing is earlier.
